SUMMARY:99 Songs Event | ACCULAE – Il Rito delle Fonti (The Rite of Springs)
DESCRIPTION:As part of the program for L’Aquila 2026\, Italian Capital of Culture\, the event “99 Songs” —organizedby the Euterpe Music Association —presents ACCULAE – Il Rito delle Fonti\, a performance by the artistic collective The 10th Sense in one of L’Aquila’s most iconic and defining locations. \n*The Master of Water* emerges from the fusion of the ephemeral artist’s narrative and the city’s deepest soul: the ninety-nine stone masks\, silent witnesses to the ninety-nine founding castles of L’Aquila\, become the focal point of a reflection on time and collective memory. Water is not merely a scenic element\, but a comprehensive map and a negation of the past: it flows\, is consumed\, regenerates\, and refuses to be confined. A sensory and ritual experience that transforms the monument into a living theater\, where the city itself becomes the story. \nFree admission while seats last.

SUMMARY:I Am My Songs | Gaetano Curreri
DESCRIPTION:As part of the program for L’Aquila 2026—Italian Capital of Culture—and *I Cantieri dell’Immaginario*\, the “B. Barattelli” Concert Society of L’Aquila presents Io Sono le Mie Canzoni\, a show by Gaetano Curreri —the heart and soul of Stadio —accompanied on stage by Roberto Drovandi and Andrea Fornili\, longtime collaborators on an artistic journey spanning over forty years. \nA moving journey through the songs that have shaped entire generations: “Acqua e Sapone\, ” “Un giorno mi dirai\,” “Chiedi chi erano i Beatles\,” and many other tracks that have stood the test of time without losing their power or identity—all written by Curreri. Also on stage are a dance troupe and an ensemble of musicians in a production designed to highlight the full emotional power of a repertoire that is part of Italy’s collective memory. The show includes tributes to the great artists with whom Curreri has collaborated throughout his career— Lucio Dalla\, Vasco Rossi\, Patty Pravo\, Laura Pausini —and a particularly poignant moment dedicated to Giovanni Pezzoli\, his lifelong partner on stage. A bridge between generations underscored by recent collaborations with Gué and Tommaso Paradiso at the latest Sanremo Festival: a passing of the torch that demonstrates how Stadio’s sound is still alive\, relevant\, and a source of inspiration. \nTickets are available at www.ciaotickets.com.

SUMMARY:Organ Improvisation on Historical Instruments | Martin Sturm for the 30th Organ and Early Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:As part of the program for L’Aquila 2026\, Italian Capital of Culture\, the L’Aquila Concert Society “B. Barattelli” presents an extraordinarily rare event for the 30th edition of the Organ and Early Music Festival “Music and Architecture – Places of Time and Music”: German virtuoso Martin Sturm —organist\, composer\, professor\, and director of the Department of Sacred Music and Organ atthe Franz Liszt University of Music in Weimar — brings the art of real-time organ improvisation to L’Aquila\, performing on both of the historic instruments at the Basilica of St. Bernardino of Siena. \nIn the first part of the concert\, Sturm performs his own *Missa per Organo* on the monumental 1726 organ by Feliciano Fedeli\, located on the counter-façade and considered one of the largest and best-preserved examples of 18th-century Italian organ architecture. In the second part\, he takes his place at the 1939 organ by Vincenzo Mascioni\, situated behind the High Altar: two historic voices from one of L’Aquila’s most significant and iconic basilicas\, in dialogue with the improvisational creativity of one of the most award-winning performers on the international scene\, winner of prestigious competitions and the Kulturpreis Bayern. \nThe event is organized in collaboration with the Order of Friars Minor\, the Archdiocese of L’Aquila\, and the Central Directorate for Religious Affairs of the Ministry of the Interior. \nFREE ADMISSION UNTIL ALL AVAILABLE SEATS ARE FILLED.

DESCRIPTION:As part of the program for L’Aquila 2026\, Italian Capital of Culture\, CostellAzioni – Festival of L’Aquila’s Identity brings Setak’s music to one of the most evocative and iconic sites in the L’Aquila region: the area around Lake San Raniero andthe archaeological site of ancient Forcona\, where some of L’Aquila’s earliest historical roots lie. \nAt sunset\, the landscape\, archaeology\, music\, and light come together in a unique and unforgettable experience. The star of the evening is Setak\, a singer-songwriter from Abruzzo who is among the most authentic and original voices on the contemporary Italian music scene and winner of the 2024 Targa Tenco Award for Best Album in Dialect. SUMMARY:Mil flores amarillas | The Bowline for the 30th Organ and Early Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:As part of the program for L’Aquila 2026\, Italian Capital of Culture\, the “B. Barattelli” Concert Society of L’Aquila presents the third event of the 30th edition of the Organ and Early Music Festival “Music and Architecture – Places of Time and Music\,” featuring the ensemble The Bowline\, founded in 2025 by Teodoro Baù —one of Italy’s leading experts on the viola da gamba—with Margherita Burattini on the harp\, Giulio Petrella on the viella\, and Paolo Del Toro on the harpsichord. \nThe program “Mil flores amarillas” (A Thousand Yellow Flowers) explores the art of diminution—that is\, the melodic embellishment typical of early performance practice: a living tradition that breaks down the fourth wall between past and present\, free-spirited and surprisingly relevant today. A central figure in the repertoire is Diego Ortiz da Toledo (1510–1570)\, author of the famous *Tratado de Glosas* (Rome\, 1553)\, whose *Recercados* are performed alongside instrumental reductions of vocal works such asthe six-voice*Alma Redemptoris Mater *. Rounding out the program are works by Antonio de Cabezón\, Diego Pisador\, and Juan Bautista Cabanilles\, all exponents of the Spanish Renaissance and contemporaries of Raffaello Sanzio—whose painting *The Visitation*\, commissioned by the Branconio family for the Church of San Silvestro in L’Aquila\, is arriving in L’Aquila these days after centuries. \nFREE ADMISSION WHILE SEATS LAST.

SUMMARY:OVNI Baroque | Emmanuelle Dauvin for the 30th edition of the Organ and Early Music Festival
DESCRIPTION:As part of the program for L’Aquila 2026\, Italian Capital of Culture\, the “B. Barattelli” L’Aquila Concert Society presents an event of extraordinary charm and originality for the 30th edition of the Organ and Early Music Festival “Music and Architecture – Places of Time and Music.” \nThe featured artist is French violinist Emmanuelle Dauvin\, who performs a solo repertoire of the highest caliber\, including works by Johann Sebastian Bach\, Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber\, Johann Georg Pisendel\, and Nicola Matteis. The truly distinctive feature of her performance lies in the unique technique that has redefined Dauvin’s solo career since 2017: playing the violin while simultaneously accompanying herself on the organ pedals—a spectacular historical practice she herself has dubbed “OVNI Baroque” (Organ-Violin New Interpretation)\, which has been acclaimed at major European festivals. \nTrained at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels\, the Schola Cantorum in Basel\, and the School of Arts in Ghent\, Emmanuelle Dauvin has collaborated with world-renowned ensembles and recently achieved success at the prestigious H.I.F. Biber Competition in Austria. She performs on a violin attributed to Antonio Mariani from 1663\, accompanying herself with a Hauptwerk sound bank pedalboard\, custom-built in 2023 by Manufaktur Blumenroeder using recordings of historic organs. \nFREE ADMISSION WHILE SEATS LAST.
