SUMMARY:Free Flight: Am I one of you?
DESCRIPTION:A tribute to women—engaged and full of joy—who adore both the virtues and the flaws of the other half of the sky. A warm and down-to-earth ode\, woven from a mosaic of scenes inspired by Goldoni\, chosen for their modernity and\, indeed\, their “contemporaneity.” It is no coincidence that these scenes are linked by a beautiful series of pop songs from today’s collective imagination\, performed live. And in this divertissement—which combines wit and lighthearted grace—there is another departure from traditional Goldoni productions: all the characters wear masks\, in contrast to the key idea of the author’s later work\, in which he would have preferred to eliminate all masks… But thanks to these masks\, three excellent actresses portray no fewer than sixteen different characters! \nHellequin Theater Company\, Pordenone\nDirected by Ferruccio Merisi\nArtistic Director: Manuele Morgese \n  \nTickets at https://www.cinemazeta.it/

SUMMARY:Borrani\, Dillon\, and Consonni Trio - 80th Season of the "Bonaventura Barattelli" Aquila Concert Society
DESCRIPTION:Three stars of the Italian concert scene have come together to form an extraordinary trio dedicated to performing masterpieces from the repertoire for this ensemble. The performers are violinist Lorenza Borrani\, cellist Francesco Dillon\, and pianist Martina Consonni. The program offers a fascinating journey into the heart of Viennese Classicism\, bringing together two great composers: Franz Joseph Haydn and Franz Schubert. From Haydn’s works\, the program features Trio No. 44 in E-flat major\, Hob. XV:29\, Op. 86 No. 3—a luminous and refined piece that serves as a perfect example of formal balance and brilliant chamber music dialogue. Alongside this\, the famous Trio No. 39 in G major\, Hob. XV:25—known as the “Gipsy”—surprises with its rhythmic energy and its sweeping\, Hungarian-inspired finale. The second part of the program is dedicated to Schubert’s Trio No. 2 in E-flat major\, D 929\, Op. 100\, one of the absolute pinnacles of Romantic chamber music. The famous second movement\, with its melancholic and suspended theme\, has become one of the most beloved pieces in the chamber music repertoire. A musical journey spanning different eras and sensibilities\, highlighting the evolution of the piano trio between the 18th and 19th centuries. https://barattelli.it/eventi/trio-lorenza-borrani-violino-francesco-dillon-violoncello-martina-consonni-pianoforte/ \nAdmission fee:\nwww.barattelli.it

SUMMARY:All the Necessary Extravagances: “Everything Looks Fine from the Outside”
DESCRIPTION:By Daniele Fabbri\, with Giulia Vanni\, directed by Daniele Fabbri\n“My father taught me the leg movements of water polo players: bend your knees like a hammer and draw circles with your knees while pushing outward. It’s thanks to this movement that they can lift themselves out of the water. If I were in a pool\, I’d use it and have my hands free. But with cancer\, you’re not swimming in clear waters. At first you think things are going well—it’s just a puddle\, a minor setback: one foot in front of the other\, your incurable optimism\, and you’ll be out of it. But you find nothing solid beneath the sludge; you try to drag yourself along\, but your body won’t follow—it’s starting to let go. Oh no\, dear body! We can’t just give up like that! From the outside\, everything’s fine. Also because\, aside from the cancer\, I’m doing just fine. Maybe.” *From the Outside\, Everything’s Fine* tells a true and personal story: the relationship with the “guest” that is breast cancer\, navigating between drama and variety—\n\, a comedic narrative\, and musical theater. From diagnosis to the side effects of treatment\, through certain surreal bureaucratic processes and the taboos surrounding language related to the disease. \nCredits \nBy Giulia Vanni and Daniele Fabbri | Starring Giulia Vanni | Illustrations | The Sando |\nStyling | Karma B In collaboration with Associazione L’albero dalle molte vite |\nProduction | Valdrada Teatro Co-production | Teatro Valmisa | With the support of Le\ncittà possibili Festival and Associazione Tdl/Teatro del Lido di Ostia \nDirector’s Notes \nThe show blends drama and humor\, depicting the journey of those living with the disease through an irreverent brand of comedy that helps break the silence. “Here’s the problem: when you’re dealing with cancer\, life becomes unbearable—not so much because of the disease itself\, but because your relationships become strained and fragile\,” revealing that the fear of the disease makes it difficult to be honest. “But it’s not because we’re bad people; it’s just that we’re scared and don’t know how to do the one thing that can help us: tell each other what it’s really like.” Her tone is ironic yet sincere as she shares hilarious anecdotes\, such as using cancer as an excuse to get out of boring evenings or the absurdity of discovering that mosquitoes don’t bite during chemo. But the message comes through loud and clear: illness can be faced with courage\, thanks in part to humor. “I’m sure that after this\nstory\, you’ll be left with only good memories and a few more tools to face it all. And if you want to cross your fingers\, now’s the time! Thank goodness it’s the left breast…” A laugh so liberating that it embraces fear and makes it lighter. \nFor information and reservations\, call 3280527856 or 3406688091\, email\n\, or visit spaziorimediato@gmail.com\nwww.facebook.com/spaziorimediato\nwww.instagram.com/spazio_rimediato

SUMMARY:Aurum Naturæ Immersive Photography Exhibition: BLACK-AND-WHITE LANDSCAPES – BLACK&WHITE LANDSCAPES (Photographs by Marco Equizi)
DESCRIPTION:“Whatungarongaro te tangata\, toitū te whenua.” “Just as man disappears from sight\, the earth remains.” (Maori proverb) \n\nIn the recent past\, central Italy has been associated almost exclusively with devastating earthquakes that have altered the landscape of many places\, leaving villages and towns still in need of reconstruction. Nature\, however\, follows a millennia-old path; over the ages\, the landscape slowly transforms\, following the continuous and unceasing course of both tectonic movements and the seasons\, offering us primordial and unspoiled vistas that seem eternal. The very same territory that has seen human settlements rise up can\, just a few hundred meters from these homes\, hide corners of extraordinary beauty—places where there is literally no trace of human activity\, or where only an imperceptible trace remains. The highlands of Abruzzo\, the forests straddling the border between Abruzzo and Lazio\, the lakes and waterways—some accessible only via often rugged trails—represent the very origins of central Italy. These are places where some may encounter the work of their God\, while others may rediscover themselves; places where the cardinal directions lose their meaning and all human logic seems to dissolve into the emotions evoked by their contemplation. What emerges strongly is humanity’s duty to oversee the care of its surroundings\, exercising preventive protection against the destructive actions of its fellow humans; otherwise\, the price the future holds in store will be the total loss of the opportunity to experience the splendid sensations bestowed upon us by nature. Depicting these landscapes in monochrome is the true challenge of this collection: the elements stand out through the gradation of tones\, without earth\, water\, and sky dominating through color\, yet creating a powerful connection among them. The format chosen by the artist—which gives the collection its title—is the golden ratio. The viewpoints presented to the observer are those of a traveler who arrives at the location and directs his gaze—naturally horizontal—toward the spectacle before him\, in a near-perfect 144:89 aspect ratio. *Aurum Naturæ* is a series created over a six-year period\, from 2014 to 2020\, and is conceptually divided into four parts: Sky\, Form\, Water\, Vegetation; the shooting locations—though recognizable in many cases—are not indicated by the artist’s express choice. All images were taken with a full-frame Canon EOS digital camera. The exhibition layout in the Winter Garden features photographs mounted on rigid panels suspended by steel cables using the existing steel structure on the hall’s ceiling. The exhibition will be viewable from the balcony.

SUMMARY:Papaveri e Papere Theater Season: Let's Find a Rapunzel!
DESCRIPTION:The story of Rapunzel is told by two cooks who are baking a cake. All the ingredients are brought out onto the counter in the small kitchen. Everything is ready when a craving for coffee interrupts the baking. But the work must go on; they can’t stop. Craving or wanting something else can lead to trouble\, just like those two farmers who lost a daughter because of their craving for rampion. But you can’t bring up a story without telling the whole thing. And so\, between a cup of coffee and the cake preparation—whose aromas the audience will also be able to enjoy—the two cooks never stop recounting and pondering that strange story that begins with a wish—to have a child—and a craving—for Rapunzel’s hair grown in a fairy’s garden. The two cooks tell and bring to life the fairy tale of Rapunzel using vegetables\, ladles\, spoons—whatever they find on the counter. They become so immersed in the fate of the protagonists that they eventually step in\, taking part in a story that’s also about them and all of us. \nA story\, a fairy tale\, that reminds us that even in the darkest moments\, we must not lose hope for a happy ending. Life will have its sorrows\, its wounds\, and its moments of abandonment\, but it is always worth living to the fullest. \n\nCattivi Maestri Theater Company\, Savona\nDirected by Antonio Tancredi\nArtistic Director: Manuele Morgese\ntickets at https://www.cinemazeta.it/

SUMMARY:Growing Up in the Theater: Professor Bustric’s Flea Circus
DESCRIPTION:*The Flea Circus* is a play on perspective between the infinitely small and the infinitely large: it may happen that if a flea dives into a coffee cup—so small to us\, yet as vast as an ocean to her—the scene transforms into a deep-sea abyss\, revealing its secrets and mysteries. The magic of simple yet incomprehensible and surprising tricks—small flashes of genius that fill the audience with wonder. \n\nBari Theater Productions

SUMMARY:All the Necessary Extravagances: “Confessions of a Hungry Woman”
DESCRIPTION:A play by Giuseppe Tomei\, starring Gemma Maria la Cecilia\, with set design by Antonello Santarelli. \nSynopsis: “Confessions of a Hungry Woman” is a theatrical monologue that explores\, in a semi-serious and ironic way\, the complex dynamics surrounding food and eating\, addressing their psychological\, cultural\, and social implications. On stage\, a single actress brings to life a character who\, through a series of reflections and moments of intimacy with the audience\, lays bare her contradictions regarding food: pleasure\, guilt\, desire\, and self-control. Food becomes a lens through which to observe ourselves and the society in which we live\, where every bite is laden with meaning. Through a combination of irony\, moments of raw honesty\, and sincere storytelling\, the protagonist confronts her own relationship with food\, external pressures\, and the daily challenges surrounding the body\, body image\, and self-esteem. The performance oscillates between laughter and deep reflection\, offering the audience a mirror of their own eating habits and the meanings we attribute to food. \nDirector’s Notes: The set design is minimalist\, deliberately sparse\, to focus on the intensity of the performance and the interaction with the audience. The monologue is enriched by brief pauses\, improvisations\, and moments when the protagonist addresses the audience directly\, creating an atmosphere of intimacy and engagement. The language is conversational and often shifts between lighthearted and more dramatic tones\, keeping the audience in a state of constant surprise. \nFor information and reservations\, call 3280527856 or 3406688091\, email\n\, or visit spaziorimediato@gmail.com\nwww.facebook.com/spaziorimediato\nwww.instagram.com/spazio_rimediato

SUMMARY:Musica Per-Formare 2026: Dialogues Between Sounds\, Words\, and New Cultural Frontiers
DESCRIPTION:A Conversation with Musicologist Francesco Zimei: “The Origins of the Lauda: St. Francis and the Jesters of God” \nAs part of “Musica Per-Formare. Dialogues Between Sounds\, Words\, and New Cultural Frontiers\,” a project by the Società Aquilana dei Concerti for L’Aquila\, Italian Capital of Culture 2026\, L’Aquila-based musicologist Francesco Zimei\, professor of music history at the University of Trento\, invites you on a journey: “The Origins of the Lauda\,” with particular reference to the Canticle of Brother Sun\, composed by Francis of Assisi exactly eight hundred years ago. Crucial to the success of the lauda repertoire was the Saint’s very idea of adopting an immediate and persuasive language for preaching—one capable of engaging the masses by drawing on the communicative skills of the jesters\, true mediators between art and devotion. The event is being streamed on Barattelli’s social media platforms. https://barattelli.it/eventi/musica-per-formare-2026-francesco-zimei-in-alle-origini-della-lauda-san-francesco-e-i-giullari-di-dio/

SUMMARY:All the Necessary Superfluities: Poems "Phocomelic Poems"
DESCRIPTION:Poetic Ramblings (1980–2024): Verses\, Gestures\, and Voice by Daniele Timpano\nIn collaboration with Elvira Frosini\nOriginal music by Marco Maurizi\nLighting design by Omar Scala\nOrganization and distribution: Laura Belloni\nProduction: Gli Scarti Center for Innovative Theater Production\,\nKataklisma Teatro\nI leave it to you to judge; throw stones if you wish\nIf I seem like a poet to you\, stone me.\n(Vittorio Alfieri\, *Calascionata seconda*\, 1775)\n*Poemi Focomelici* is a collection of poems by Daniele Timpano\,\n\, published in 2025 by CuePress.\nA show is born from the collection.\nAn autobiography in verse: from a Christmas letter to his parents in 1980 to 2024; from the dawn of his career as an author and his first self-published collections of texts—circulated as carbon-copied typescripts distributed via photocopies between 1996 and 1998—through the endless array of poetic\, theatrical\, and literary—both completed and unfinished—all the way to the imploding political rage of the present and the evocation of a death that\, if not imminent\, is no longer so far off.\nThese *Poemi Focomelici* by Daniele Timpano are a carefully curated selection of poetic texts\, arranged in chronological order; they constitute the unique poetic autobiography of a man—or rather\, what remains of the author’s half-century of life and over forty years of compulsive writing.\nThey are “poems” (albeit “focomelic” ones)\, rhythms that attempt to become meter: perhaps lopsided\, hypermetric\, hypometric\, or ametric\, but meter nonetheless. A rhythm that is that of a stubborn thought caught in recursive ruminations; a flow of breath that stirs the body at the moment of speaking; a headless music that seems to have found its proper measure\, perhaps\, only in maniacal and endless rewritings and rereadings. \nFor information and reservations\, call 3280527856 or 3406688091\, email\n\, or visit spaziorimediato@gmail.com\nwww.facebook.com/spaziorimediato\nwww.instagram.com/spazio_rimediato

SUMMARY:Creativity in Action - Digital Project 2.0
DESCRIPTION:Film and audiovisual media become tools for active citizenship in the DIGITALE 2.0 project\, an initiative of the L’Aquila Film Institute carried out as part of the “National Plan for Cinema and Visual Media in Schools” promoted by the MiC and the MIM. The program aims to educate young students—from elementary through high school—on the informed\, critical\, and safe use of digital technologies\, addressing pressing issues such as cyberbullying and online responsibility. \nThrough creative workshops led by industry professionals\, preschool and elementary school children try their hand at producing original commercials\, discovering the secrets of visual storytelling. At the same time\, high school students explore the frontiers of innovation by creating augmented reality works and immersive installations using video art software and artificial intelligence. \nAll the content produced during these training programs will be featured in a closing exhibition scheduled for late May at Palazzo De Marchis. This special event will celebrate the talent of students from L’Aquila and reaffirm cinema as the medium of choice for fostering the informed growth of tomorrow’s citizens.
