Anna Karenina challenges us to reflect on the emotional world that unexpectedly overwhelms individual and social experience, bursting forcefully into reality and the imagination. A character who seems predictable at first glance but is deeply enigmatic—one who has managed to draw an entire social context into the existential vortex of emotions. In a train station waiting room—a place of arrivals and departures, a crossroads of lives—she reappears, ready to confront her own experiences, drawing passengers into a theatrical interplay: life bursting onto the stage and the stage bursting into everyday life. The audience is transported into Tolstoy’s great novel, revealing the intimate, human, spontaneous, true, and timeless essence of the characters. Anna’s journey into herself—through her love for Count Vronsky and her conflict with her husband Karenin—is the journey of many of us; once again, the director uses literature to explore the human soul, and in this case, a universal emotion: passion.
