To celebrate the conclusion of the prestigious 80th season of the “Bonaventura Barattelli” Aquila Concert Society, renowned jazz drummer Roberto Gatto is presenting an extraordinary project. The new version of “Roberto Gatto Plays Rugantino” will be premiered—a jazz reinterpretation that, twenty-five years later, renews the tribute to the iconic music of Armando Trovajoli.

This “Reloaded” edition features brand-new arrangements and a fresh musical approach, performed by an exceptional ensemble that brings together some of the biggest stars of Italian jazz, including Alessandro Lanzoni, Gabriele Mirabassi, and Rosario Giuliani. The project transforms the famous musical comedy into a vibrant narrative, where the story of the Trastevere tough guy is infused with rhythmic energy and sophisticated harmonies.

The decision to premiere this work in the city underscores Roberto Gatto ‘s deep connection to the Abruzzo capital, strengthened by his teaching activity at the “A.
