An unmissable event to rediscover the connection between the history of L’Aquila and the national audiovisual heritage. The seminar, organized by the “La Lanterna Magica” Film Institute in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts, concludes the series “Film: Between Restoration and Preservation.” Through the lensof the Luce Historical Archive , documentarieswill be screened that trace the social, economic, and cultural evolution of the L’Aquila region.

The event is divided into two key segments: the first will explore the relationship between the city and the Archive, featuring presentations by Barbara Drudi and Fabrizio Pompei; the second will be a technical focus on the reuse of photographic and cinematographic heritage, featuring experts from Cinecittà S.p.A., Patrizia Cacciani and Andrea Scappa. This is a unique opportunity to reflect on the role of cinema as a fundamental cultural asset for rebuilding the social fabric and for the future development of L’Aquila, following its prestigious designation as the 2026 Italian Capital of Culture.
