Forcona: The Echo of the Mother City—Lights, History, and Community
As part of the program for L’Aquila, Italian Capital of Culture 2026,the S.A.T.O.R. Association, in collaboration with the ABAP Superintendency for the provinces of L’Aquila and Teramo andthe Archdiocese of L’Aquila, offers an immersive journey through the founding sites of the L’Aquila region: from the Forcona archaeological complex to the former Cathedral of San Massimo—an itinerary that weaves together heritage, words, and sound.
Guided tours of the sites alternate with literary interludes featuring readings from Latin authors, restoring voice and meaning to the spaces that shaped the history of the capital of Abruzzo even before its founding. The afternoon concludes with a musical interlude and a guided sound meditation session, transforming the cultural experience into a moment of collective reflection.
Forcona: The echo of the mother city is an invitation to discover a region that predates the city and preserves its most ancient memories—an opportunity to engage with history through listening, presence, and the beauty of these places.
