As part of the program for L’Aquila 2026, Italian Capital of Culture, the event “99 Songs” —curated by Massimo Felici in collaboration with Claudio Mastracci and organizedby the Euterpe Music Association —brings Joscho Stephan, one of the world’s leading performers of contemporary Gypsy Jazz, to L’Aquila.

Deeply rooted in the legacy of Django Reinhardt, Stephan broadens its horizons by weaving in Latin, classical, and pop influences, even going so far as to offer original reinterpretations of songs by Jimi Hendrix, Dickey Betts, and the Beatles. His discography—which has earned him numerous critical accolades, with albums such as *Gypsy Meets Groove* and *Guitar Heroes*, recorded alongside Biréli Lagrène and Stochelo Rosenberg —has established him as one of the most celebrated ambassadors of Gypsy Jazz worldwide. An evening of sophistication and modernity, where tradition and a constant search for new forms of expression come together in perfect balance.
