The Gran Sasso Science Institute’s Visitor Center is home to the Science Cave —the “cave of science”—a multimedia space designed by CamerAnebbia to showcase GSSI’s research through interaction, play, and experimentation.

Visitors can explore the Institute’s four scientific areas— Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, and Social Sciences —and learn about the stories of the researchers who work every day in L’Aquila and at the Gran Sasso National Laboratories. The installation transforms complex scientific topics into an accessible and engaging journey for audiences of all ages, giving the city a space where scientific curiosity becomes a shared experience. Created as part of the SAFI3 project, funded by the PNRR and coordinated by the GSSI. Visiting hours: Monday–Friday , 3:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. (closed August 13–19).
