GSSI Visitor Center – Open to the Public

As part of the program for L’Aquila 2026, Italian Capital of Culture, the Gran Sasso Science Institute is opening its Visitor Center to the public: a new permanent cultural space in L’Aquila where artistic installations, interactive technologies, and scientific research come together to offer a unique experience of discovery and participation.
The exhibition is spread over two levels: on the ground floor, the sculptural-musical work “Forme Sensibili – Narrazione di un paesaggio”, created by artists Licia Galizia and Michelangelo Lupone in collaboration with the GSSI’s Computer Science department, the CRM – ETS Music Research Center, and PAC – Contemporary Art Project; on the lower level, the Science Cave, a multimedia space designed by CamerAnebbia to showcase GSSI’s research through play, interaction, and experimentation. The Visitor Center was created as part of the SAFI3 project, funded by the PNRR and coordinated by the GSSI, and supported and promoted by the City of L’Aquila. HOURS: Monday–Friday 3:00 PM–7:00 PM (closed August 13–19).
FREE ADMISSION.
