The City of L’Aquila is launching a training program for the “Cultural Ambassadors for L’Aquila 2026,” an initiative that is part of the “L’Aquila: A Welcoming City” program in preparation for its year as the Italian Capital of Culture.
Following the City Council’s resolution of November 18, 2025, the Administration approved the decision to launch free courses for merchants, business operators, sports and cultural associations, and all citizens who interact with the public on a daily basis.
The project, launched at the initiative of the Supervisory Committee for L’Aquila 2026, aims to encourage the development of citizenship, foster critical thinking and creativity, enhance the quality of hospitality, and promote a broader and more informed understanding of the city’s historical, artistic heritage, and cultural identity, making each participant a key voice in the story of L’Aquila as it prepares for its year as the Capital.
The MU6 aps ets Association, which has many years of experience in the field of education and the promotion of cultural heritage, is responsible for managing the training activities. The program includes informational sessions, training courses, and workshops. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive the official title of “Cultural Ambassadors for L’Aquila 2026.”
This initiative is part of the cultural promotion efforts planned for 2026 and reaffirms the Administration’s commitment to building a city that is increasingly welcoming, inclusive, and ready to seize the opportunities associated with the title it has earned. The project will also help develop best practices in cultural heritage education that will remain valuable well beyond 2026.
