On the occasion of the 34th edition of the Paolo Borsellino National Award, the city is promoting an event titled “34 YEARS OF REMEMBERING.” The event was organized to commemorate the victims of the Capaci massacre, the tragic terrorist-mafia attack in which Judge Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo, and security detail officers Vito Schifani, Rocco Dicillo, and Antonio Montinaro, while also honoring the courage of the survivors and those who were wounded in the line of duty.

The event is intended to be an occasion for deep reflection on the rule of law and will feature key figures from government institutions and the fight against crime. Speakers will include Mayor Pierluigi Biondi, Prefect and Director of State Police Services Renato Cortese, Prefect and former Deputy Chief of Police Luigi Savina, and Colonel Gianfranco Paglia, recipient of the Gold Medal for Military Valor and a symbol of resilience and service to the state. A collective dialogue aimed at transforming historical memory into a shared ethical commitment, directed in particular toward the younger generations.
