Accademia Saxophone Quartet – “80th Season of the ‘Bonaventura Barattelli’ Aquila Concert Society”
The “B. Barattelli” Concert Society of L’Aquila celebrates the excellence of chamber music in Abruzzo with the return of the Accademia Saxophone Quartet. On the occasion of the Barattelli’s 80th season, the ensemble—composed of Gaetano Di Bacco, Enzo Filippetti, Giuseppe Berardini, and Fabrizio Paoletti —celebrates a historic connection with the city that began right here in L’Aquila in 1984.
The program offers a musical journey through the versatility of the saxophone: from Singelée’s 19th-century works to the French sophistication of Françaix, all the way to Romero’s South American rhythms. The highlight of the evening will be the world premiere of “Respiri di quiete mobile,” a work commissioned from composer Fabio Massimo Capogrosso to mark Barattelli’s 80th anniversary.
The concert will conclude with the stirring “Cinemadinote” suite, a tribute to the unforgettable soundtracks of Nino Rota and Ennio Morricone. An unmissable event that combines musicological research and cinematic inspiration in the heart of the 2026 Capital of Culture.
