Film and audiovisual media become tools for active citizenship in the DIGITALE 2.0 project, an initiative of the L’Aquila Film Institute carried out as part of the “National Plan for Cinema and Visual Media in Schools” promoted by the MiC and the MIM. The program aims to educate young students—from elementary through high school—on the informed, critical, and safe use of digital technologies, addressing pressing issues such as cyberbullying and online responsibility.

Through creative workshops led by industry professionals, preschool and elementary school children try their hand at producing original commercials, discovering the secrets of visual storytelling. At the same time, high school students explore the frontiers of innovation by creating augmented reality works and immersive installations using video art software and artificial intelligence.

All the content produced during these training programs will be featured in a closing exhibition scheduled for late May at Palazzo De Marchis. This special event will celebrate the talent of students from L’Aquila and reaffirm cinema as the medium of choice for fostering the informed growth of tomorrow’s citizens.
