Ninety years after its 1935 debut, *Non si sa come* has been chosen by Paolo Valerio to continue an exploration of psychology and the human psyche, a journey he began with *La coscienza di Zeno*. Drawing on the Svevean tradition of *
*, the director expands this exploration through Pirandello’s unsparing prose. The lead role goes to a master actor like Franco Branciaroli, who is equally at home in the grand roles of Shakespeare and Goldoni as he is in the emotional turmoil of this fiercely contemporary play.
