Artist Interview: Marinella Senatore – The School of Narrative Dance (SOND)
Artist Marinella Senatore will hold a presentation of the SOND project at MAXXI.
With a background in music, fine arts, and film, Marinella Senatore focuses on the audience and the transformative power of art.
In a few months, the streets of L’Aquila will take center stage in Marinella Senatore’s visionary project, SOND: The School of Narrative Dance. A grand parade that celebrates diverse skills and individual and collective potential through movement, music, words, and gestures. The artist will meet with the public to explore the themes of her research and explain what a participatory, non-hierarchical, and site-specific artistic process means to her—a process that, since 2012, has involved 23 countries and 8 million people.
