An exhibition curated by Maurizio Cattelan and Marta Papini that pays tribute to Fabio Mauri, a central figure in Italian art and 20th-century thought, on the centennial of his birth.
The exhibition traces the twenty-year period from 1979 to 1999, when Mauri taught “Aesthetics of Experimentation” at the Academy of Fine Arts in L’Aquila. The works conceived and staged during those years form the heart of the exhibition and highlight the connection between his artistic research, the city, and its inhabitants.
On the centennial of his birth (1926–2009), the exhibition offers an opportunity to explore a key chapter in the artist’s career.
