I Solisti Aquilani with Mariangela Vacatello and Marco Pierobon
A gathering of virtuosos for the 2026 Capital of Culture: I Solisti Aquilani welcome pianist Mariangela Vacatello, a multi-award-winning performer known for her interpretive depth, and world-renowned trumpeter Marco Pierobon. The program celebrates the dialogue between the keyboard and brass through masterpieces ranging from the Classical period to the 20th century.
The evening opens with Beethoven’s Concerto No. 3 (in Lachner’s rare transcription), continues with the 18th-century elegance of Neruda, and culminates in Shostakovich’s famous Piano Concerto No. 1, a brilliant work in which the piano and trumpet take center stage in a fast-paced and ironic musical exchange. An event that combines exploration of timbre with the great international repertoire.
